Read the Full ArticleMember for North Sydney, Joe Hockey MP, today announced the winners of his annual Christmas card competition for local primary school students, which is now in its 13th year.
“The Christmas card competition is a great way for me to promote local schools and the very evident artistic talents of their students," Mr Hockey said.
“Winning entries feature on my official Christmas card, which is sent to community leaders and elected officials both in Australia and even some across the World.
“I was very impressed by the entries this year and am grateful to all young students who took the time to submit a piece of artwork to the competition" Mr Hockey said.
This year, 450 entries were received from Boronia Park Public School, Cammeray Public School, Greenwich Public School, Lane Cove Public School, Neutral Bay Public School, St Mary’s Primary School and Willoughby Public School.
Third Place this year went to Daniel Harris from Year 6, Boronia Park Public School; Second Place went to Jasmine D’Arcy from Year 5, St Mary’s Primary School in North Sydney; and First Place went to Jewel Soares from Year 3, Lane Cove Public School.
“Congratulations to the finalists this year and thank you to all students who submitted an entry in this year’s competition" Mr Hockey said.
