JOE HOCKEY WISHES EVERYONE A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS YEAR OF THE TIGER

Member for North Sydney, Joe Hockey MP, has wished everyone in his electorate and across Australia a very happy Lunar New Year.

“The Lunar New Year is a special time for many people in our electorate and I would like to wish all people celebrating a very happy prosperous year ahead.

"The Year of the Tiger symbolises passion and enthusiasm. Both of these qualities will be very useful for all of us in the coming year.

“On Saturday 13 February I was delighted to attend the Chinese New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Chatswood and it was my pleasure to help welcome in the New Year in such as magnificent fashion.

“The ceremony was a testimony to the community spirit of Chinese Australians everywhere, and it was great to see so many members of our community, especially younger Australians, come together and contribute to the celebrations" said Mr Hockey.

The ceremony included a Chinese Lion dance and the festivities continued on throughout the day with Martial Arts presentations and street stalls.
