On Saturday 13 February Joe attended the Willoughby Chinese New Year Festival in Chatswood Mall. The Chinese community in Chatswood is extremely active and contributes a great deal to our community. It was a pleasure to be there and help them celebrate the beginning of the year of the tiger.

Joe visited Lane Cove Public School to open a new covered outdoor learning area that was constructed with a $50,000 grant from the Howard government.
To express their appreciation, the parents arranged for a special surprise for Joe - cupcakes emblazoned with Joe's face. On his way to lunch at the Montiefore Retirement Village in Hunters Hill, Joe dropped one off at his son Xavier's playgroup. Apparently Xavier was a little perturbed about eating something with dad's face on it, but the thought of a tastey cupcake eventually won him over!
